** Wang Liu Mei. Some fans are cool with her due to her morally ambiguous Chaotic Neutral side but some of them feel she just a immature hypocritical and manipulative RichBitch.

* MagnificentBastard: [[EvilTwin Regene Regetta]] is an enigmatic [[Characters/MobileSuitGundam00Innovades Innovade]] who shares the same DNA as Tieria Erde. He is also a member of "Innovator" and acts as Ribbons Almark's second-in-command. During his introduction to Tieria, Regene calmly tells Tieria about their origins as Innovades, [[WeCanRuleTogether asks him to join his side to change the world]], then allows him to think about his offer.[[TheUnfought Regene never engages in battle against Gundam himself]], instead choosing to observe the situation and gain information with his quantum brainwaves, and has no problem working for any side without arousing anyone's suspicions, including the other Innovades.[[ItsAllAboutMe Realizing Ribbons only cares about his motivation]] to be the [[DarkMessiah messiah of the world]] instead of guiding humanity to the future, Regene sends Wang Liu Mei to give VEDA the location of the Celestial Being, then revives Tieria Erde and helps him to reconnects with VEDA to disable any "Innovator" weaponry. Upon seeing Setsuna F. Seiei completing his evolution as a "pure-breed Innovator", Regene gives a lecture to Ribbons' other followers about human evolution and praises Setsuna for becoming the first pure-bread Innovator and trusts him to use his new power to guide humanity into a better future.

* ValuesDissonance: An important part of the characterization of Celestial Being as an organization is that using force to bring peace and a unified world is viewed as hypocritical, and depending on the person a significant drawback or a NecessaryEvil. In the US, the acceptability of the concepts of peace through force and world unity are almost flipped, being instead seen as heroic and justified.

** Out of all [=Setsuna's=] mobile suits, Exia is essentially the most popular of the bunch, thanks to it's intricate and stylish design that even non-gundam fans agreed that it looked cool, to the point that [[spoiler:it appeared at the end of Season 2 going up against [=Ribbon's=] O Gundam]]. Fans weren't as pleased when the initial High Grade model kit and the Master Grade didn't do enough justice, but the design was popular enough that Bandai released a pretty good Real Grade and later an amazing Perfect Grade that topped-off the competition.

* EvilIsSexy: Ali, Hallelujah, Nena, Wang Lui Mei, and Ribbons.

* BrokenBase: Is the second season [[GrowingTheBeard better than]], on par with, or [[SeasonalRot worse than the first season?]]

* ShipToShipCombat: Setsuna/Marina vs. Setsuna/Feldt. The fact that the series itself didn't even bother to [[OfficialCouple pick a winner]] doesn't help at all. However, in the manga based off the movie, [[spoiler: Setsuna at the end marries Marina. The mangaka explicitly stated that their marriage is symbolic, representing their deep bond and mutual understanding. The movie is different, without the wedding, and can be seen in a more platonic light.]]

** Princess Marina Ismail is generally not a very well liked character in the fandom, with some even despising her and finding her irritating due to seeing her as passive to the point of being useless to the plot, bland and a pale imitation of earlier, better developed ''Gundam'' female characters such as [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing Relena Darlain Peacecraft]] or [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamSeed Lacus Clyne]], and singing a song that is impossible to take seriously (see {{Narm}}.)
** Andrei Smirnov is possibly the most widely abhorred character in the series for being a complete JerkAss who took on a very possessive and sexist chauvinist attitude towards Louise and [[spoiler:committing patricide on his own father for his percieved "betrayal" and also violating a cease-fire by killing his father's friend despite said friend having helped Andrei get into the military to start with, which the fandom considers to be MoralEventHorizon crossing actions by him.]]
** Even with Louise Halevy's heartbreaking tragedy, she lost some sympathisers by giving into [[HeWhoFightsMonsters her own desire for revenge]] and joining the villainous A-LAWS. In other cases, some fans don't like her either because she killed Nena, tried to kill Saji, or became a love interest to Andrei for a time. Of course, given the events during the two's only encounter in Season 2, a few fans wound up hating both Nena and Louise in the end.

** Louise in the second season is meant to be seen as [[spoiler:a tragic AntiVillain misguided by revenge and manipulated by the Innovators after the tragedy Nena caused her. However, although we are given hints that the medication Ribbons gives her plays a big part in her SanitySlippage and Andrei's involvement certainly doesn't help, because she willingly joined the A-Laws as opposed to being forced as part of Ribbon's plan, it is up to interpretation about how many of her morally gray actions are a result of brainwashing and how many of them are her own choice. Not helping matters is that after she seems to [[BeyondRedemption cross the point of no return]], she's saved from death at the last minute and her [[TheAtoner attempts to atone for her actions]] afterwards happen entirely offscreen, making her come off as too EasilyForgiven.]]

** Andrei Smirnov is supposed to be a misguided character but still be a caring man who is concerned about [[spoiler:Louise]] health and understand her before her reunite with Saji. However, everything that Andrei did to [[spoiler:Louise]] never made her become positive. At worse, he wanted [[spoiler:Louise]] to follow in his footsteps by [[spoiler:killing Saji]], pointing out that he is an "abusive boyfriend" and "traitor" like [[spoiler:Sergei]], who deserved to be killed. All of this merely because he wants to prove that he is "caring", wants to "protect" her and win her heart. In fact, [[spoiler:Louise]] only treats him as a comrade, never seeing him as more than a friend, and sometimes being absolutely annoyed with his attitude. [[spoiler:While Andrei gets a HeelRealization over killing his father mistaking him for a traitor, he never shows regret over similarly killing his fathers friend, who help Andrei get into the military, in violation of a cease-fire. At the end of the series, he [[KarmaHoudini gets off scot-free for all of it]], only paying his KarmaHoudiniWarranty in TheMovie.]]

While she starts to pull a HeelFaceTurn in the second season after her TraumaCongaLine, she is never shown to regret any of her past actions or develop out of her CuteAndPsycho personality, making [[spoiler:her death come off as a case of AssholeVictim rather than a case of HeelFaceDoorSlam]].
