• Broken Base: The gag involving Mickey finding Oswald the Lucky Rabbit in the garbage pile and tossing him in a can. Some, especially Oswald fans (and even Epic Mickey director Warren Spector), took it as an insult to the character, with some accusing the writers of thinking people generally hated Oswald when the opposite is true. Others didn't see the harm in the gag and/or thought it was genuinely funny, and were happy to finally have Oswald show up in the new Mickey Mouse shorts, even if it was only a cameo.
