• Signature Scene: The Cold Open of Desmond going through his morning only to be interrupted by Jack and Locke blowing the Hatch open. The mystery of who this new person was and the reveal that they were connected to a major mystery from the first season caught many viewers off-guard and became one of the most well-remembered, and praised, sequences even years after the show ended. The series would go on to use a similar reveal in the opening scenes of the third and fifth seasons.
