This is the YMMV page for the Engeki Joshibu musical, Lilium Shoujo Junketsu Kageki, starring Morning Musume '14 and S/mileage from Hello! Project.
- Heartwarming in Hindsight: Somewhat inverted with Marigold's solo song. When listening on its own, it's a very powerful song with uplifting lyrics about Marigold overcoming her grief of being alone... But then you remember that she's Ax-Crazy due to being hated by everyone around her, and has an unhealthy obsession towards Lily.
- What Do You Mean, It's Not Symbolic?: While the play references a lot of Christian sayings and aesthetics, apart from feeling forsaken by god, the play is actually fairly Buddhist in nature, seeing the mass suicide of the girls at the end of the play as release from the figurative dream, much like the concept of Nirvana, which frees people from the cycle of reincarnation, which is seen as burdensome. There are very few actual Christian themes within the play.
