• Catharsis Factor: Considering how he treated Bobby throughout the episode, it is incredibly satisfying to see Hank give Jimmy the Literal Ass-Kicking he deserves.
• Harsher in Hindsight: Peggy eagerly taking pictures of race crashes in an episode with Dale Earnhardt (in which it's assumed he races) becomes this in 2001 with Earnhardt having his fatal accident at the Daytona 500.
• Moral Event Horizon: Jimmy crosses this when he makes Bobby cross the racetracks to get him a soda, not caring at all if he gets killed. This, of course, makes the ass-kicking he gets from Hank all the more sweeter.
• Unintentional Period Piece: This episode aired in 1998, back when NASCAR was starting to gain popularity, with Jeff Gordon easily being the face of the company and with Dale Earnhardt being not too far behind. Speaking of Earnhardt, this was back when he was at the height of his career, winning the Daytona 500 that year and three years before his fatal race accident. And on that note, there's the running gag of Peggy taking pictures of race crashes, with a disposable camera. While those kind of cameras still exist today, if this episode were made in current times, Peggy would more than likely be taking pictures with her cell phone.
