YMMV / Judgment Day (Marvel Comics)

  • Like You Would Really Do It: By the end of issue #5 the Avengers are mostly dead. Krakoa is destroyed, ending mutant resurrection. Eternal resurrection systems have been destroyed. The world is burning and human cities are in ruins. At this point it's clear that some sort of Reset Button is looming.
  • Tear Jerker:
    • Phastos befriending the Machine that is Earth, resetting it to it's default status and asking if it's alright. It turns out that Phastos has effectively killed it's former personality.
    • The death of Magneto. After having his heart torn out by Uranos, the villain-turned-hero manages to manually pump his own blood for twenty-four hours, with the help of Storm empowering him. After managing to save Arakko from destruction and even defeating Uranos with his own armory, Magneto succumbs to his injuries, and seemingly dies in Storm's arms. In a bittersweet but beautiful send-off, the Progenitor appears to him in the form of his long-deceased daughter, Anya, and judges him as worthy, allowing Magneto to pass on with a peaceful smile on his face, knowing that he managed to protect his people and that he will finally see his child again.
    • When Syne is resurrected half-dead and finds that her sisters are dead (for good), and her human poetry buddy is dead, she seeks out Exodus - who'd died with her in a Mutual Kill, and essentially begs him to wield her as a Living Weapon. While they briefly bond over the chivalric poetry of Chretien de Troyes, it leads up to her plea, given on bended knee.
Syne: I would write a lament for the planet, a sonnet of fire and violence... but I cannot strike that which oppresses us. I am a sword in the stone that needs to be drawn forth. I need to be wielded by a Knight of the Round Table.
Exodus: What would this poem be called?
    Syne: How about... "L'mort d'Celestial"?
