YMMV / Joey To The World

Go To

  • Nightmare Fuel: The short's final shot, a close up of Joey's frozen, rotting corpse slumped against a dumpster, accompanied by a chilling musical sting. And then the cartoon just stops.
  • What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?/What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: A weird subversion. It wasn't meant for kids because the creator wasn't told that it had to be, hence the mild swearing and references to pin-up posters, testicles, rape, whorehouses, condoms, crack addicts, death, parental abandonment, huffing glue, autocannibalism, and pretty much everything else to completely bypass the network's typical brand of risqué-but-inoffensive humor to just be straight-up for adults. And unlike Regular Show, the racier content was so deeply embedded in this cartoon that to tone it down would defeat the purpose, which is why it was immediately rejected upon completion.
  • The Woobie: Joey, who's kept a naïve Manchild by his overbearing mother to the point that his first and only attempt to stake out on his own ends in disaster. Even after it's revealed to have been All Just a Dream, his mother gives him No Sympathy and rents out his room before he can come home and change his mind, and he dies alone of cold and starvation by the end.
