- Character Rerailment: This story serves to rerail Thanos' characterisation post-Infinity Gauntlet, as an enlightened Anti-Hero who grew out of stealing Macguffins and pursuing Mistress Death's love, after being regressed in Mark Waid's Ka-Zar and Dan Jurgens' Thor.
- Fanon Discontinuity: Thor fans like to pretend the Thanosi retcon never happened as they think that it undermines Thor's great victory against Thanos, back in the Dan Jurgens run.
- Harsher in Hindsight: Thanos claiming in the story that he is no longer a delusional nihilist and Stalker with a Crush to Mistress Death turns into this, as in The Thanos Imperative he goes crazy and reverts to villainy anyway.
- Moment of Awesome: Thanos and the heroes fighting against the Omega Thanosi.
- Narm: The Omega Thanosi isn't really intimidating as he looks like Thanos in a Galactus costume.
