  • She said in an interview with BBC "Everybody kept telling me it shouldn't be a single and that it would never work for radio, and they were like 'Oh, it's just another song.'
  • Lampshaded when she wrote: “People kept saying to us that this song was never gonna work at radio because they didn’t think people would ‘get it’, and today Havana is 1 at pop radio.”.
• Ho Yay: In her music video "Havana", her character's soap opera alter ego finds her love interest hiding in the closet waiting to pop the question so now "he's out of the closet".
  • Then, in the club scene, two of Camila's male backup dancers dance together.
  • Followed by a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment where two of her female backup dancers are shown in the same bar flirting at a table together.
