YMMV / Hate Eternal

Go To

  • Broken Base: The fanbase in regards to Jade. Was he an excellent drummer in his own right who just had unfairly big shoes to fill, or was he a hack who just got lucky that he found a band with a frontman who gave him the benefit of the doubt far too often?
  • Win Back the Crowd: The Jade Simonetto-era albums, while generally liked as a whole, are largely viewed as the band's worst releases, and while Infernus was viewed as a step in the right direction, fans were still reluctant to place it on the same level as the first three. Upon Desolate Sands, on the other hand, was quickly received as not only the best modern Hate Eternal album, but one of the best things that the band had ever done and was praised for its more atmospheric take on their style.
