YMMV / Happy Lesson

  • Crosses the Line Twice: The abuse (sometimes accidental, sometimes intentional) that befalls Chitose is largely Played for Laughs, and while normally such instances would just seem painful, the sheer absurdity of what he's put through and how it outdoes the last punishment yet always coming out of it without a scratch makes it hilarious.
  • Once Original, Now Common: At the time of its original release, the series had a fairly unique premise, but nowadays, thanks to the boom of Harem Genre series, it seems like a run-of-the-mill Cliché Storm. Each character can be classified as an archetype, the plot beats can be seen a mile away, and the plot itself can be seen as rather generic.
  • Squick: The idea of a "harem of mothers" may seem off-putting to many viewers, despite the initial absence of any romantic tension. Largely because that, while they aren't actually related to each other, the notion of a teenage guy in any kind of romantic relationship with an adoptive mother figure can easily break incest taboos.
