Aluminum Christmas Trees: In book 13 (Apple Turnover Murder), one of the charity events being held is "Donkey Baseball", a game of baseball in which the players don't walk or run on their own — they ride donkeys. This is an actual fad from the 1930s.
Die for Our Ship: More fans think that Hannah should just get together with Norman since they believe he's better for Hannah than Mike is. Some were even hoping that Ross, Hannah's new husband, would die in a later book so that she can choose the correct man. They almost got their wish when he ran off and returned to his first wife, whom he'd still been legally married to all along. And then they really did get their wish when he was murdered in book 24 (Chocolate Cream Pie Murder).

Wangst: There's a scene in the first Hallmark movie that feels out of place for Hannah's character. After Hannah and Andrea find Max's body, Hannah is called out by her brother-in-law and she cries over the possibility that the whole town hates her. Not to mention her being upset with her treatment of Mike, whose wife died before the movie started. It feels like a downgrade to Hannah's character.
