YMMV / Hammer and Bolter

Go To

  • Growing the Beard: After Double Or Nothing, many episodes began to have better production quality and fluid animation.
  • Overshadowed by Controversy: This show (and Warhammer+ in general) came out around the time that GW was acting more harsh in their copyright policy, which caused many fans to boycott the series and even GW itself. If you are going to hear a Warhammer-based YouTube channel talk about Hammer and Bolter, it's very likely that they will compare it to fan animations that suffered in copyright's name.
  • So Okay, It's Average: In comparison to the other episodes, which have been greatly criticized, "Artefacts" is generally considered to be a pretty good episode. Whilst not without it's flaws, it's considered good on account of most of the animation being done in CGI instead of the limited 2D animation of the previous episodes.
  • Special Effects Failure: In "Kill Protocol", when the Tech-Priest is repairing her Kastelan Robot, her left mechadendrite suddenly disappears a second before the scene shifts.
  • Squick: "Plague Song" is pretty much an episode of Squick due to the amounts of Body Horror and mutations being inflicted.
