- Alternative Character Interpretation: Some fans regard it as a Series Continuity Error that so many characters are in favour of robosexual relationships after they all objected to Fry getting involved with a Lucy Liu-bot in "I Dated a Robot". However, there is a possible difference; the Liu-bot in the previous instance was a blank machine programmed to be interested in Fry rather than an independent entity in its own right, but in this case Bender is a fully autonomous robot who has made a conscious choice to date Amy.
- Heartwarming in Hindsight: The main plot of this episode talking about Robosexual marriage becomes more endearing and relevant when on June 26, 2015, the U.S. Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage throughout the country.
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The idea of Bender and Amy getting married might have resulted in some interesting plotlines and development for both of them, between Bender having to potentially settle down and Amy getting more focus as a character. Unfortunately, they break up by the end of the episode - or fortunately, since Kif and Amy are able to reconcile.
