• Awesome Music:
  • The opening song, a cover of 'Que Sera' by The Pixies is ominous and haunting and fits the show perfectly.
  • The magic jukebox in the diner often plays memorable songs that occasionally lead into montages, for example 'In Dreams' by Roy Orbinson.
• Breakout Character: "Smiley" and his actor Jamie McGuire have become very popular with fans of the show thanks to his unique features and creepy, jovial behaviour. This makes it all the more jarring when he's bumped off halfway through Season 2, showing that the creatures aren't so unstoppable after all.
• Epileptic Trees: Being a horror-mystery show inspired by Lost it seems like it was made for this. Fans of the show have been coming up with all sorts of crazy theories for what's going on. Even the characters in the show do this a lot.
• Everyone Is Jesus in Purgatory: The events of this show are often up to viewer interpretation; this is even invoked a lot in the show, minus actual mention of this trope of course.
• Fan Nickname: "Fromville" for the town and forest.
• The Scrappy: Quite a few fans do not like Marielle seeing her as a distraction from the main plot and being a worse partner for Kristi than the more competent Kenny.
