• Harsher in Hindsight: At one point in the episode, when Peter takes Stewie to a ball game, he accidentally leaves the infant inside the car. Two passerbys, who notice the clearly hot and sweaty Stewie all alone inside the car, merely worry about him missing the game. It's not as funny in later years, with high reports of babies dying from heat exhaustion after being left unattended inside their parents' cars.
• Heartwarming in Hindsight: After Stewie and Peter's falling out, Brian tries to cheer Peter up with his rendition of "Peanut Butter Jelly Time", to no avail. In Season 9's "The Big Pang Theory", Stewie goes back in time to this episode's events and performs the dance himself for Peter, which does a far better job of lifting the latter's spirits than Brian's original attempt did here.
• Signature Scene: Brian putting on a banana costume and singing "It's Peanut Butter Jelly Time!"
• Took the Bad Film Seriously: According to the DVD commentary, Herbert's song was supposed to be a spoof, but Mike Henry instead decided to play it completely straight. The end result was probably the most humanizing Herbert will ever get in the series.
