- Arc Fatigue: The chapters focusing on Asuna's monologues about her life after SAO have been criticized for being too long or being a series of Wall of Text especially those who are waiting for the part where Asuna and Co. goes to rescue Kirito in ALO. It didn't help when the next arc was about Kirito's time in ALO which many felt should have been done earlier rather than making more chapters of Asuna.

- The original character Hideyoshi has some popularity. This is most likely due to how he hates Sugou, and some readers find him more interesting than Sugou.
- Knowledgeseeker 66's depiction of Asuna's brother, Yuuki Kouichirou, has earned a fair number of fans.
