Harsher in Hindsight: The Killing Game, Ionesco's 1971 play about a town struck by a sudden epidemic, is a little too on-the-nose in the wake of the COVID-19 Pandemic. While Covid-19 isn't as deadly as Ionesco's fictional illness, he correctly predicted people violating quarantine rules for selfish reasons, scapegoating of people or groups, and the spread of misinformation regarding the disease as well as supposed "cures".
