• Base-Breaking Character: Double D. Some support his actions, some condemn him as a backstabber, and some think that Eddy deserved his punishment for his lack of effort while Ed didn't.
• Broken Base: The actions of Double D in this episode are quite divisive within the fandom. Double D's actions are often seen as betrayal of his friends by several fans, but on the other hand, there are even some fans who feel that he was only doing what he did for their own good, as he feels that it would be a good lesson for them both. There are, however, fans who feel that while Double D delivering Eddy's report card was justified since Eddy deserved to be punished for slacking off, he shouldn't have done the same thing to Ed since his parents would be no help given their implied treatment on him and instead should have gotten a counselor of some sort to help him function better in class.
• Unintentionally Sympathetic: Ed. Yes, he's trying to forge his grades, but he's also got an abusive mom. His supporters also argue that he's too stupid (or mentally unwell) to be in a regular classroom, and that his teachers should have realized this and gotten him proper counseling. Also, one of Ed's teachers points out in his report card that Ed has trouble concentrating for even the smallest period, probably noting how concerning the situation with him really is.
