• Moe: Polaris is very mature for her age but also very cute.
• Tear Jerker: The True Ending. Despite all her efforts, Polaris can’t save Almond, who’s taken away by Nightmare so he would continue dreaming forever. She wakes up back in the real world and vows that she will face the real world despite the hardships, so she won’t end up like Almond did. However the last line of the game shows a grown up Polaris that's disillusioned with the real world and actually agrees with Almond's decision. She still says she has to face reality though.
• Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: The story eventually becomes so relentless and depressing that it can turn people off. Especially because there's no happy ending for the characters.
• The Woobie: Almond, who suffers from depression, has a very uncaring family, and the only real friend who understood him died. It's no wonder he prefers to be trapped in an eternal coma rather than facing the world.
