• The Woobie: Yu is a Cambodian refugee who fled her home to Hong Kong, hoping to find her parents, only to discover her mother had died and her father is an abusive piece of filth who treats her like crap. When she tries escaping from her family with Pang, she ends up getting horribly injured by a nail through her heel, which results into a gangrenous infection which nearly causes an amputation. Finally surviving and making her way back to Cambodia, she becomes pregnant with Pang's baby, only to suffer through birth complications which requires her to go through surgery, and when her husband Pang tries to raise money for her and the baby, she ends up being mortally injured where Pang is forced to, in a last-ditch attempt, save their baby by cutting her stomach open. You can't get any Woobie-er than this...
