  • Audience-Alienating Era: Most people will agree that they have had at least one; Frolic Through the Park and Killing Season are the most commonly cited ones, and depending on who you ask, everything from Frolic Through the Park to Killing Season and sometimes Relentless Retribution counts as one. The band seems to be in agreement about Frolic and Season, as they have not played anything from them live for years.
  • Contested Sequel: Almost everything from Frolic Through the Park to at least Killing Season was polarizing (though many fans will agree that Act III was at least more focused). It wasn't until The Dream Calls for Blood that the fanbase was unanimously on board with another album of theirs.
  • First Installment Wins: Regardless of how they feel about most of the following releases, most, if not all of the fanbase will still cite The Ultra-Violence as their best release.
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: The band had moderate success in their home country, but they were huge for a while in certain Euro countries, such as France, Germany and the Netherlands.
  • Signature Song: "Seemingly Endless Time" for their original era, "Claws in So Deep" for the modern era.
  • Win Back the Crowd: Virtually everything from Frolic Through the Park to Killing Season has been highly divisive at best, and while Relentless Retribution was better received, it still had many detractors. The Dream Calls for Blood, on the other hand, surprised many people with its return to an aggressive thrash style, and it was almost universally held to be a truly great thrash album as a whole, not just for them.
