- Once Original, Now Common: Due to it being one of the most copied styles of indie music in the last few decades, with multiple waves and a healthy revival scene, it's easy to not realize how innovative they were when they first started out on the scene. Alas, this results in many younger emo fans regarding their music as "boring", or "too generic".
