- Unintentional Period Piece: "Summer Rain", which is about a widow remembering her lover who died in combat. When it was released in January 1990 the United States was finishing Operation Just Cause, an invasion of Panama ordered by President George H. W. Bush to overthrow dictator Manuel Noriega. Then in August 1990, while "Summer Rain" was still on the charts and the airwaves, we saw the beginning of The Gulf War, leading to the song becoming associated with the war.
