• Aluminum Christmas Trees: The Red Dye#2 that The Hawk drinks as a suicide bluff was at the time controversial, thanks to mid '70s Soviet and US studies that indicated a correlation between the additive and certain cancers. While the link was never definitively proven, items using the dye were taken off of store shelves (the scare also caused the disappearance of Red M&M candies for a decade out of an abundance of caution even though they never used Red Dye#2).
