• Broken Base: Fans are divided on the land being based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Some don’t take issue with it and feel it makes sense given how successful the MCU is in the greater mainstream, not to mention it separates the land from the more comic-centric Marvel Superhero Island at Universal's Island of Adventure, while others are annoyed by it and see it as Disney once again pushing the MCU at the expense of everything else Marvel related.
• It's the Same, Now It Sucks!: Many Marvel Comics fans ended up groaning when it was revealed that the land would be themed to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, seeing it as another case of Disney prioritizing the MCU over the Marvel comics and aggressively pushing the MCU and its imagery onto every project related to Marvel.
