YMMV / Amar Despues De Amar

Go To

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Is Alina a seductress with a thing for younger boys? Or did she fell in love with Sammy and now Nico for real?
  • Designated Hero: Damian Kaplan. He's supposed to be one of the good guys, a good boss and blackmailed by his openly evil brother. But he cheats on his wife Raquel, and destroyed two families... and, unlike other stories about cheating, there's zero justification to describe it as a good adultery.
  • Draco in Leather Pants: Some female fans do not care about the consequences of the actions of Damian: he's so hot!
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Once upon a time, there was a convicted murderer. An evil lawyer managed to get him released, following a relaxes interpretation of the codes, and this guy randomly murders Santiago's father. This same lawyer is chosen by Andrés to work for Raquel, when she broke with Alina, and all the old grudges resurfaced when Santiago saw him. This episode was filmed several months before being aired. By the time it was aired, there was a national scandal on the issue: judge Carlos Rossi had released a prisoner, completely disregarding the reports that he was still a dangerous man, and this man killed a girl named Micaela García, which fueled criticism against the "pro-criminals" judges.
  • The Un-Twist: Who killed Carolina Fazio, and why? That question drove the whole series, several theories were proposed and tested in the plots, and there was a lot of Wild Mass Guessing in the fandom. Common theories were a crime of passion (either by Santiago or Carolina themselves, or someone close to them that discovered the romance), or a financial crime by someone that would benefit from Damian's death. It turned out that it was just a random theft, commited by el Sarro and el Guacho, a pair of unimportant thieves introduced in the last episodes
