Now about fanon trends specific works instead being Adaptational tropes.

* Narm: What's the line that tips off Tenzin that Korra is being abused? Mako telling her "Your jaw is a little... square". It sounds less like a heartless insult and more like awkward first date chatter.
* RonTheDeathEater: Mako, a JerkWithAHeartOfGold in canon, ends up being warped into a LifetimeMovieOfTheWeek villain.

Never a crack pairing.

* HilariousInHindsight: This series depicts Korra and Asami as bisexual and having feelings for each other. Flash forward to the end of the actual series, and, well...Keep in mind that this was written before the actual couple graduated from CrackPairing to FanPreferredCouple in the fandom

None of this describes both opposing view points.

* BrokenBase: The characterization of Mako and Korra is the most divisive issue of the fic.
** The DomesticAbuse is also a sore spot.
** Not to mention, the identity of the author. It's heavily speculated that Oddlyending is merely a sockpuppet of a very vocal "Website/Tumblr activist" named Riley (aka gisei_nashi_ni), who's been involved in several internet incidents of varying severity, and who's been syndicated as a Legend Of Korra detractor from before the series aired.

Fridge Brilliance examples go on the Fridge tab, not the YMMV tab. Will create a Fridge tab and move it there.

* FridgeBrilliance: This fic is frequently criticized for having Mako force Korra to conform to 21st century American standards of beauty, rather than early/mid-20th century Chinese ones. It's actually very, very common for Domestic Abusers to force their female victims into dressing in a more conservative or at least conventional manner. It's not entirely about making the victim conform to the abuser's specific, personal tastes, but also a means of making the victim less attractive to other men-- jealousy is one of the biggest red flags of domestic abuse, and Korra would stick out in Republic City (or anywhere else, really, since she does have a pretty masculine style that's unusual even for other Southern Water Tribe women). Making her stand out less from the crowd would ensure that nobody would try to 'steal' her from Mako.

Complaining About Shows You Dont Watch is now only about the In Universe usage. Its usage as an Audience Reaction is being removed, as well as usage in criticism on work pages, which is inappropriate regardless.
