• Growing the Beard: The series changes drastically from "A Very Dramatic Movie: the Movie" onward, acquiring a coherent plot and characterization and trading in constant Comical Overreacting for a style of comedy more resembling that of Parks and Recreation or The Good Place. Where the original six shorts were explicitly intended to be So Bad, It's Good, the feature-length installments are meant to be unironically good. And they ARE.
• The Woobie: Jennette's Friendless Background and tendency to be ignored or dismissed by the other two protagonists often pushes her character in this direction.
