Todd Mc Farlane's Spawn is set in the same action universe as Runaway Train, The Last Boy Scout, The Long Kiss Goodnight and Enemy Of The State.
It makes sense since the HBO series shares the same gritty, dark and intense look, style and feel as the four movies. So the show fits right at home with them.
