The animals perform plays

Everything in Tinga Tinga did happen, but in a certain order. Which order? We can never say what. For the sake of their plays, they make one animal act out what they were like before things began to change for them (for better or worse). The Red Monkey loves to tell stories to the future generation, hence why he is always the narrator.

Lion adopted the monkey trio

Lion was out for a walk in Tinga Tinga one night and saw the three monkeys who had recently lost their parents (perhaps due to sickness or something). Being the kindhearted king he is, he took them in as his own. Despite lack of continuity and reset buttons, Lion mentioned in one episode that the monkeys were 'too young to remember' the wildebeests last visit.

Following from the top most theory. An order can be found, if one analyses the show enough

For example: "Why Buffalo" had to have taken place before "Why Rhino" because Buffalo having horns was an important part of Rhinos story. As opposed to Rhino, who wasn't important to Buffalo's story, and could be written off as just a joke.

Likewise, "Why Tickbird" had to have taken place before "Why Hippo" because the former is when Hippo and Tickbird became friends. Hippos lack of hair in "Why Tickbird" could be because it wasn't relevant to the story. In fact, Hippo's behaviour in "Why Tickbird" could have also contributed to Hippo being band from living in the water in "Why Hippo".

Some animals, like Guinea Fowl, are wildcards since their acquired traits aren't relevant to any other stories besides their own, such as Guinea Fowls dots, that are not acknowledged in other episodes and therefore not important. As opposed to Tortoise speed, which is relevant to both "Why Zebra" and "Why Hare" and "Why Tortoise" had to have taken place before those stories

With all this in mind, an order can be found by examining each episode and taking into consideration what traits are relevant and which are not.
