WMG / The Women of Trachis

This play was produced in the same cycle as Sophocles' now-lost Thyestes and Pelias.

All three (if, as is likely, Pelias was about the title character's death) would involve cruel, murderous deceptions; Nessus tricked Deianeira into giving Heracles a corrosive robe, Atreus tricked Thyestes into eating his own murdered sons, and Medea tricked Pelias' children into killing their own father.
