Albrecht is a phantom.
- He appeared in Kurumi's crib when she was a baby, and I think she created him using her power, without really realizing it. Everyone who saw him assumed someone else had given him to her. After all, there's nothing really remarkable about a kid having a teddy bear.
- As a result, Albrecht can do amazing things because he isn't bound by normal rules. In practice he can do anything that Kurumi believes he can do. That's why he can repair computers, in addition to becoming a giant and fighting for her.
- Which also means he probably can't be damaged, because she believes he cannot.
- Further proof to her believing something can't happen to Albrecht is seen when in episode 8 he swells up from the hot spring water moments after entering it, yet when in the ocean during the OVA which is a much larger body of water, he doesn't swell up like before and can actually fight the phantom in question.
