WMG / Maria no Danzai

Go To

Speculation for the remaining bullies' demise.
  • Tsuyoshi Kinugawa
    • Setting him up into unleashing his rage at a bigger fish.
      • More specifically, have him kill a gang member by mistake. Because he hurt the wrong person, his body will be broken beyond repair, meaning that he can't rage attack and hurt anyone anymore, and all he can do is be beaten like his former victims were.
    • Bringing Iijima to fight him, since he is who he's looking for.
      • Jossed: Iijima was found dead while Kinugawa was still searching for him.
    • During the moment when he dies, he will get proof that his friends don't care about him and will be abandoned by Nozomu Okaya, showing that his love for his evil friends was all for nothing, and he has no one who loves him as well before he dies.
  • Mutta Ajiki
    • Inflicting Refeeding Syndrome, by first starving him for a few weeks while making him look at someone else experiencing fine dining, then finally releasing him.
      • Or, if Refeeding Syndrome is to complicated to understand, she could kill him by poisoning his food.
  • Nozomu Okaya
    • He will be force-fed cockroaches and eventually tortured before being thrown towards a bus.
    • He ends up surviving whatever gruesome fate Maria has in store but is left permanently crippled and requiring a caretaker. Cue his new nurse being Maria after assuming another identity, with him being unable to tell anyone else due to his injuries and the implication that she'll be torturing him for the rest of his life.

Taiichiro will eventually help with Mari's revenge.
He will discover her identity, but in the process, also the true circumstance behind Kiritaka’s death, so he stealthily stalls the investigation on his own, choosing to let Mari avenge their son.

The investigation on Kowase's disappearance will draw attention to Yajima.
She was the last person to see him before he went missing, and there's no way she hasn't realized that he disappeared after trying to drown her.
  • She did realize, and deliberately kept quiet fearing this exact scenario.

The boy Kiritaka saved will make an appearance later as a major role against Okaya.
Remember the boy with glasses who was hanged up by the bullies before being saved by Kiritaka? I believe he will return in the story, surely against Okaya and possibly as Maria's helper in her revenge.
  • Confirmed: his name is Akihiro Yuda and he's the one who murdered Iijima.

The Bullies' parents will somehow have a role in this story
  • Nozomu Okaya's parents were both mentioned when it was revealed his father is a psychologist, and Mari claims to know his mother. Nozomu's mother was later again mentioned when she sent a text to her son. Both of them will learn of the monster their son is and will either be in denial of it or horrified by their son's action. They will be killed by Mari or their son Nozomu.
    • Nozomu's mother, Shizuka Okaya, was Mari's main bully in school. Mari claims that she is acquainted with Nozomu's mother, and while that may be a lie to get closer to him, it's possible that she was telling the truth, and like her son, she was bullied by Shizuka; those it's possible that Shizuka wasn't as satanic as her son. This would likely lead to a confrontation between the two mothers as Shizuka is forced to confront her former behavior as a bully and that her son is a monster.
    • Shizuka Okaya, Nozomu's mother, would have a hand in killing him. It's possible that she could've been able to tell there was something wrong with him at birth; her husband and others would insist that it was all in her head. Eventually, Nozomu would have behavior problems, and her husband sent Nozomu to psychoanalysis to fix his behavior. It would appear to work to the point where she's fooled by her son to act, and when he's entered high school, she's genuinely proud of the person who became and loves him. If it all comes crashing down when she learns the truth about the monster her son is, she will snap and help kill Nozomu and kill her husband when he tries to stop her. She would kill herself before apologizing to Mari and saying that she should've killed Nozomu at birth and admits that Kiritaka Nagare was the son she wished she had.
  • One of the bullies' parents will get revenge on the person who killed their child once they find out they are dead.

Maria will join her son.
  • Maria's only drive to live is to have Kiritaka's tormentors be getting what they deserve, despite having little emotion or feel repulsed at committing such acts. Once all of this is over, she will take herself out. Taiichiro may join her and their son as well if he knows the truth.

We will get Kiritaka Nagare's point of view at the end of the story.
  • We don't know much about him despite his death being the catalyst of the story. He is closed to his mother, seems to love his father as well, and takes everything upon himself to not worry anyone. It is never known why he didn't tell a teacher. Maybe he did. However, considering the principal has encouraged the staff in the drinking meeting to prioritize the school's reputation, it is implied they had that mentality before his death. Plus, Okaya's family owns a company (revealed in Kowase's profile as an extra page), so they must be rich enough to have the teachers ignore his claims against Okaya's group. It is unknown if he ever bothered to talk to his father about the situation even though the latter is a detective. It may be explained as him being a young teen who believed he could take anything himself, but when the revenge is done, the story will have more explanation for why he did what he did in his POV.

Maria will expose Okaya's gang before finishing him off
  • As a final poetic justice, Maria will finish what Kiritaka started and expose Okaya and his friends for the monsters that they were, possibly by Engineered Public Confession, ensuring that he is ruined even if he survives whatever death she has planned for him and giving the rest of their victims the satisfaction of knowing they've been avenged.

Maria will learn about the sex video
  • Possibly before or after offing Okaya, Maria will learn about the fake sex video that was sent to Kiritaka, and will lose her shit upon learning that she was used to send her own son to his death.

Yajima and Atsuki possibly know Kiritaka Nagare
  • It's a big school, and it's possible that they didn't know Kiritaka Nagare, but it is possible that they did know him in the past, which will become important to the plot.
    • Atsuki was Kiritaka Nagare's former homeschool teacher, and his death devastated him, which is partly the reason why he feels that he failed Tsubasa Kowase and Kumiru Shikimi; he would eventually learn the truth of Kiritaka Nagare's death and would be devastated that Kiritaka was tortured unknowingly to him and he was mourning the demons that killed him.
    • Yajima was a classmate of Kiritaka Nagare; she believed Kumiru Shikimi's lies and kept her distance from him even if she never bullied him. Eventually, after Kiritaka Nagare's death, she was blackmailed to be Tsubasa Kowase's slave. Yajima would learn the truth about Kiritaka Nagare. Yajima would be devastated to discover that she took part in isolating an innocent person, which allowed her to be enslaved by a real pervert and monster, and the person who saved her was the mother of the person she believed was a pervert because of lies a monster said about him.

The principal will have a bigger role
  • While the principal has been shown to be just uncaring to students, making it clear that he cares only about his school's reputation and wants to ignore anything terrible happening to the students, it will be revealed that the principal knows about Nozomu Okaya's crimes but was covering for him because he believes that because comes from a good family and has a bright future, so it would be best for the school to cover for his crimes at the expense of other students like Kiritaka Nagare and Yajima.

There more to Mutta Ajiki then he appears to be
  • At first glance, Mutta Ajiki appears to be just a fat bully who sits in the background while his friends torture their victims, and he is uncaring about what happens to everyone around him. However, two clues point to him being more than what he appears to be. First, Mari Nagare/Maria Akeboshi saved him from later on killing because, in her mind, her first two victims would likely run away at the sign of danger, while the other three would stand their ground and work with the others that's a sign that he's more than just a fat bully. And there's the fact that Nozomu Okaya is friends with Mutta and allows him and his group; the only reason a satanic sociopathic monster like Nozomu would be friends with anyone and let him in his group is that he's getting something out of that person so he must be getting something from Mutta. It would eventually be revealed that Mutta Ajiki, despite his appearance and gluttony, is, in fact, Nozomu Okaya's right-hand man and closest friend since childhood, and he would organize his plans, which explains why Mutta is in Nozomu Okaya's friend group.

Nozomu Okaya's has connections to the police
  • The first chapter revealed that the police investigated Kiritaka Nagare and came to the conclusion that he committed suicide because of abusive parents because of a fake suicide note. While Nozomu Okaya and his gang made fabricated evidence, it’s possible he used his family connection to get someone high in the police force to keep the police from investigating further so that he and his gang could get away with their crime. It’s possible that that person in the police force put Inspector Taiichiro Nagare in the Community Safety Planning Division to keep him from investigating his son’s death.

The mysterious third-party that killed Haruto Iijima is one of Nozomu Okaya and his gang former victim
  • It is implied that Nozomu Okaya and his gang victimize numerous people, and while Kiritaka Nagare is the only victim to die, they may victimize someone in the past who snapped and wants revenge on them like Mari Nagare/Maria Akeboshi.
    • The unnamed boy that Kiritaka Nagare saved is Haruto Iijima's killer. He puts the two together and realizes that Nozomu is the cause of Kiritaka's death; feeling guilty because Kiritaka was tortured because of him and he wasn't brave enough to stand up for Kiritaka when the bullies ostracize him from their classmates, he slowly planned their death and took the opportunity to kill Iijima, he is more sloppy than Mari because he had less time to prepare to kill the bullies.
      • That boy, whose name is revealed to be Akihiro Yuda, reappears working at a shop in chapter 20. While he appears to be a normal but quiet young man who works at a store, but then we see him having a fantasy about brutally murdering a rude customer. It's not confirmed if he's Haruto Iijima's murderer, but it's clear that the torture he suffered under Nozomu Okaya and his gang left a mark on him.
    • Yajima is Haruto Iijima killer. While she appeared to earn a happy ending after Tsubasa Kowase disappeared, she was still traumatized by the abuse she suffered under him; she eventually learns he was part of the gang and their crimes and decides that she's the only one who can stop them so she killed Iijima and plans on killing the rest of Nozomu Okaya gang.
      • Jossed and Confirmed. Yajima reappeared in chapter 20, and it showed that she is still traumatized from the abuse she suffered from Tsubasa Kowase despite previously being happy and hanging around a friend in the café with his big smile on her face. But it's confirmed that she didn't kill Haruto Iijima; she is, in fact, afraid that she will become a suspect in Tsubasa Kowase's disappearance and has not told the police she was with him when he disappeared. Despite everything Kowase did to Yajima, she feels guilty for wishing that he would not reappear, confirming that she's not the murderer. But Maria notes that those negative feelings can become twisted and lead her to become a murderer, speaking from experience.

Akihiro Yuda was forced to make the fake sex video of Mari Nagare
  • Even when Kiritaka Nagare took his place as Nozomu Okaya and his gang victim, they were not above using him, like forcing him to make a video. Akihiro Yuda put two and two together and realized that the video he was forced to make caused Kiritaka Nagare's death. He lived with the guilt for two years before seeing a chance to make amends by helping Maria avenge Kiritaka's death.
