WMG / Love What Is Mortal

Put your story and worldbuilding theories here. Canon spoilers will be left unmarked, so proceed with caution!

Remember the Dead isn't actually how Starclan works.

If cats allegedly fade away as soon as all living cats have forgotten them, then how do cats like Petalkit and Owlstar still exist despite being so old that no living cat remembers them?
  • Confirmed in regards to the Dark Forest. Dark Forest cats are linked to One Eye's curse, rather than memory.

Snowfur will be sent to the Dark Forest after the story's plot is done.

It's been made pretty clear that Snowfur will receive punishment for their crimes, and the most straightforward thing to do without killing them is just to send them to the Dark Forest.
  • Jossed. Snowfur is dead and the Dark Forest doesn't exist, so we will likely never find out what her fate would have been.

The canon storyline will happen again offscreen.

The story takes after The Last Hope, but before any of the following books, and in Chapter 50 Ashfur successfully left Starclan (along with Mudclaw by accident), so it's not far fetched to state that Ashfur will impersonate Bramblestar in this story too.

Mapleshade will stay in the Dark Forest after the story is over

There are several cats in the Dark Forest who either never really belonged there in the first place (Sparrowfeather) or have repented for their crimes enough that they don't need to keep being punished (Snowtuft). However, even with all the redemption arc hints, Mapleshade is still violent and cruel, and chose to let revenge consume her throughout death instead of trying to repent. It would be very surprising if Mapleshade was actually allowed to leave the Dark Forest.
  • Jossed. The Dark Forest doesn't exist anymore; Mapleshade would have been allowed to leave Starclan if she'd survived the story.

After the story is over, Starclan will have a serious conversation about inter-clan relations.

They really need it. Windclan's animosity towards Thunderclan is what started the plot in the first place, and thanks to the tense relations in Starclan, it took a lot longer to find out the truth behind Honeyfern and Tallstar's disappearances than it could have.

A Dark Forest spirit that spends enough time in Starclan would eventually start to look like a Starclan spirit.

Thistleclaw used to be a Starclan spirit, but from what he looks like now you would never guess at first glance. The Dark Forest is a cursed place and those who stay in it lose their stars and become living shadows that become slightly monstrous to reflect their inner evilness. This troper imagines that if Sparrowfeather is let into Starclan, he will get stars in his fur as the curse on the Dark Forest stops taking effect.
  • Confirmed with Sparrowfeather.
