The movie will hopefully have a happier ending
- Perhaps Eric, Andrew, and Wen will find a loophole on the decision that can save the world and kill the four strangers without killing Wen, allowing her to be Spared by the Adaptation.
- Maybe Andrew will not accidentally shoot Wen, or she will only be injured but alive.
- Confirmed, if only because one of the adults dying rather than a child is always less depressing. (Sabrina is the one shot by accident, and Eric chooses himself to be shot by Andrew as the sacrifice)
The events of the film are not God's doing, but rather Satan's, or perhaps another deity altogether
- The film bears only a passing resemblance to Christianity and the events predicted in the Book of Revelation, suggesting that some other malevolent deity is using their trappings to arrange an apocalypse of its own design.
