Makes sense if you think about it.- Not likely considering Jevil from Deltarune would be a more viable crossover for Nights.

The story about reuniting with them is actually the main character's way of coping with the fact that they're gone and the implication that he parted with them on unpleasant terms.During one of the more realistic segments, Art refers to Seb and Laila as ghosts. Before the climax, he says that he wants to resolve the conflict before he wakes up. This line could be interpreted as him being a lucid dreamer, or waking up could be a metaphor for dying.
