WMG / Cocaine Bear

Go To

The entire film is a Dying Dream from the bear as it ODs on the cocaine
This would have the benefit of lining up with the actual events that the film is Very Loosely Based on… at least, as we understand them.

The film will spawn an entire franchise of horror(-comedy) films about rampaging animals on drugs
Each will draft further away from being Very Loosely Based on a True Story and go straight into absurdity, with titles like:

There will be a sequel where either the survivors or the bear go to Italy
And encounter the cocaine hogs.

Someone will attempt to ingest an entire brick of cocaine to make themselves high enough to think and/or fight like the bear.
It'll of course end with the guy being subject to a Curb-Stomp Battle, but it would make for a funny scene!
  • Jossed.

If Elizabeth Banks does deliver on her proposed Cocaine Shark sequel idea...
  • It will follow an entirely new cast. There might be some throwaway references to the incident with the cocaine bear, but it will be a standalone installment, and if the series becomes a franchise it'll be an anthology.
  • It will follow the survivors of the first movie, with some new characters, as they go on vacation and end up encountering the cocaine shark. Expect lots of Here We Go Again! remarks, lampshading the odds of them once again getting attacked by an animal on a coke-fueled rampage, and/or everyone having a Seen It All reaction to the shark.

The real ending of the story, of a male bear being found OD'd with 70 pounds of coke in its stomach, did happen in this universe...
  • ....it just wasn't Cokey. Perhaps it was a rival male who stole some of her "food" from her cave or an adult version of one of her cubs. She herself lived a long, happy, coke filled life.

Syd White is Henry Hill
  • The events of this movie take place shortly after the events of Goodfellas ends. Henry outright states at the end that he hates living life like a schnook. So he decides to get back into the game with his new identity. This also explains why he couldn’t care less about his son or his grandson, that’s because they’re not really his. Eddie is another guy in witness protection who just happens to look a little bit like Syd so they set them up as a fake father and son. Since it’s out right stated that Henry and Karen had gotten a divorce this would go towards the cover story.
