Survarium was a multiplayer FPS developed by Vostok Games in 2013. It takes place in Russia, where in 2020, 90% of the world was killed off by an anomalous force that manifested as a rapidly growing forest. Buildings are taken over by this growing forest, and artifacts are widespread across the land. What's left of Earths population has now banded into factions fighting for their survival, and each other.
Does this sound familiar? If so, that's because the developers at Vostok Games were former members of GSC Game World, the studio that brought you the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series of games, and is something of a Spiritual Successor in that regard. It was released as Early Access, with the multiplayer component being fully implemented with a half-baked single-player and co-op experience against bots, before being shut down by Vostok Games on May 31, 2022, never reaching the promises of it becoming a MMO survival game.
