- Approval of God: TapeWorm frequently retweets fanart and fanmade edits of the series on her Twitter.
- Ascended Fanon: The very end of "Anomaly PSA (2000)", in which a scared child watches a glitched-out Nickelodeon bumper while crying for their mother, was inspired by this piece of fanart posted to Twitter.
- Creator Backlash: There were some videos TapeWorm made that she eventually made private and declared non-canon because she did not like how they turned out. A notable exception to this was "Nick On-Demand Error (2005)", as while that video is still canon to the series, she later said in a tweet that she heavily regretted the jumpscare she added at the end.
- Cross-Dressing Voices: Gabriel is voiced by TapeWorm herself.
- Descended Creator: TapeWorm also does voice-acting for this series.
- Fan-Work Ban: While TapeWorm is very appreciative of fanwork, she has set some limits as to what fans can create, mainly not allowing stuff that people will mistake as canon to her series.
- Follow the Leader: Once the series started gaining traction, many other creators on both Twitter and YouTube began making their own content based around network and cable channel anomalies, such as The Noedolekcin Archives.
- Teasing Creator: In a behind-the-scenes video showing off how she makes her videos using real VHS tapes, she is about to explain how the TeleBlue cable boxes work before it cuts to a TV test pattern.
- Write What You Know: TapeWorm wrote the series out of her experiences in a lower-middle class household with basic cable. Her childhood fascination with old cable UI and error screens was what led her to start WBRB in the first place.
- Why Fandom Can't Have Nice Things: After many people began spamming TapeWorm with requests for anomaly videos, she instituted a blacklist for all future video requests.
