- Executive Meddling: The reason for the original series' cancellation. At the time, the title was actually selling a lot more than Thor's title and Thor's title was bleeding readers. Wanting to save Thor's comic, someone came up with the brilliant idea to cancel Thunderstrike and kill off Eric Masterson to bring those readers back over to The Mighty Thor. The entire thing backfired as the title continued to bleed readers.
