• Recycled Script: The series was originally set to begin during the Empyre Crisis Crossover, but the COVID-19 Pandemic put the kibosh on that — Marvel ended up cancelling a large number of Empyre tie-ins, including The Union. However, they ended up resoliciting the book so that it was set during the King in Black Crisis Crossover instead, since the bad guys could easily be swapped out (Cotati to Symbiote Dragons).
