• Out of Holiday Episode: Although this episode takes place at Christmas, it aired on June 1, 1962.
• Playing Against Type: An oddly-reversed example. Donald Pleasence became better known after this episode for his scenery-chewing, usually as villains or otherwise unstable characters. To see him give an understated and vulnerable performance as a quirky teacher can be quite jarring to a viewer who's only familiar with his later work.
