• Defictionalization: It is physically possible to cross-breed tomatoes with tobacco since they're both in the nightshade plant family. A farmer actually did this in 2003 (even though the plant didn't last very long, and he theorized that it contained a lethal amount of nicotine) after being inspired by this episode. He even got a chance to be on the DVD commentary for this episode.
