- Blooper: Just before Nathan unmasks his skinsuit to Luke. You can see the two other Slitheen in shot with the heads off, revealing part of the actors faces below.
- Clyde looks at the camera before opening the door to Sarah Jane's house at the end of the first episode.
- One of the shots of the Slitheen has been duplicated, with the new line not matching the footage of the clip being re-used.
- Prop Recycling: The two adult Slitheen are of course reuses of the costumes created for "Revenge of the Slitheen".
- What Could Have Been: Clyde was originally going to confront the embodiment of Mr. Smith in the void. The latter’s avatar would’ve drawn from Clyde’s love of Men in Black, by wearing a suit and sunglasses.
- An earlier draft ended on a cliffhanger of the house being caught up in a H2O Scoop, which would’ve led to a story in which Sarah Jane is out on trial by the Judoon.
- Russell T Davies was meant to write the story, but when problems occurred with writing on Doctor Who and Torchwood, note he gave the story to Phil Ford.
