  • What Could Have Been: Basil Rathbone badly wanted the role of Lord Henry. When he lost the role to George Sanders, Rathbone blamed it on his association with Sherlock Holmes and swore off the role.
  • The awesomely horrible painting of Dorian was done by Ivan Albright, a Magical Realist painter whose works were notably grotesque.
