Trivia / The Negotiations-verse

Go To

  • Approval of God: Ponystar has been supportive of the recursive story Choice, to the point of helping with it on certain parts. It's also inarguably canon, and elements introduced in that story (such as the ESS) have been integrated into the primary canon of the Negotiationsverse.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Ponystar revealed in a Q&A what would've happened to Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Luna, Cadance, Flurry Heart, the Cutie Mark Crusaders and Sunset Shimmer if any of them survived the war:
      • Rarity would've left Equestria permanently like Fluttershy did and assisted in the relief efforts for both sides.
      • Pinkie Pie would've fallen into a deep depression over ponykind's sins that would have taken her years to recover from.
      • Luna would also have been tried like Celestia was.
      • Two possible outcomes were provided for Cadance, and they're both depressing: 1) If both she and her daughter survived, she would've raised Flurry Heart on her own in isolation. 2) If she lived but Flurry did not, she would've ended her own life out of sheer despair.
      • Scootaloo would begin to hate humanity and she would teach any children she has to do the same. This was retconned by a later answer by Ponystar due to Choice showing her never having hated humanity but she would have had a falling out with Rainbow Dash and would leave Equestria with Apple Bloom.
      • Sweetie Belle would be like her sister and leave Equestria to help both sides recover from the war.
      • Apple Bloom will help out with relief efforts as well as start a new branch of the Apple Family. Like Scootaloo, she would hate the humans and vow to never forgive humanity for their actions in the war. Likewise retconned just like with Scootaloo by a later answer stating she never had an opinion on humanity, but if she had survived, she would have disowned Applejack for selling out ponies to the ESS and left with Scootaloo.
      • If Sunset Shimmer never died, she would have turned against Celestia.
      • If the Crystal Empire had not been nuked, Flurry Heart would have become a politician dedicated to fixing the effects of the war on the nation.
    • An author's note at the end of Rest reveals that originally, Discord would have told Spike what happens after death - every dimension has its own creator, beginning, ending, and afterlife. A soul is basically the cosmic energy of a being and when the physical body dies, the soul is drawn back to the cosmic energy of that dimension and ends up in whatever afterlife is created for them. However, if a person from one dimension was to die in a different dimension, they would be rejected by that dimension's cosmic energy since it's different and the souls would eventually cease to exist. Therefore, all the ponies from Equestria who have died or will die in the dimension Earth is in shall become nothing, even Spike and Discord will. It is mitigated when Discord reveals that any ponies born into Earth's dimension are now part of it and thus will have an afterlife when they themselves die. Ultimately, Ponystar decided it was too sad and didn't go through with it.
    • In the comments of the original timeline, Ponystar revealed that the Barrier was not something Celestia invented, she just took advantage of it. Her original plan was to remain isolated until World War 3 broke out (which she felt was inevitable) and then swoop in and take everything in the aftermath with no one to stop her. He also says that if said scenario happened, she still wouldn't have succeeded.
    • In the "Divine Justice" ending of Fallen, Ponystar originally planned to have Harmony turn Fluttershy into an alicorn and become the new leader of Equestria but decided against it, feeling that it was cheesy. He would rework this concept into its own ending called "Harmony's Chosen".
    • The original plan for Warfare was based on Downfall, and focused on multiple characters and viewpoints during the Siege of Canterlot, but Ponystar ultimately went with what Warfare is now. However, he did include parts of what he originally planned in the later chapters of the final story, including the character of General Valkyrie.
  • Word of God: Rated Ponystar hosted a Q&A with the readers where he provided more details and insight into this universe not seen in the actual story. He also made a timeline of the universe to specify exactly when certain events happened and how they played out, provided more details, and left more tantalizing cues in the comments.
