• Outdated by Canon: Further official entries in the series and some side materials would make it clear that Touhou focused on obscure mythological figures, and that ZUN had trouble fitting any characters from monotheistic traditions in the current canon because of the world-building implications it would have, making this game's use of literal Jesus and Satan a bit bewildering for some.
