Trivia / The Icelandic Sagas

• Anonymous Author: Most sagas in general, and all of the Sagas of Icelanders are of anonymous authorship^note although many scholars believe that Egil's Saga was written by Snorri Sturluson.
• Trope Namer: The term Generational Saga, or Family Saga, for a multi-generational narrative is derived from the Icelandic sagas, many (not all) of which have this structure. Famous Icelandic sagas that are also generational sagas are Laxdæla saga, Eyrbyggja Saga, Grettir's Saga, Egil's Saga and Völsunga saga.
