• Playing Against Type: Jason Alexander tried to guest star on the franchise for some time, but kept getting offers of roles not too different from George Costanza. Here, he gets to play a cold, calculating villain.
• Promoted Fanboy: Jason Alexander is a long-time Trekkie who was angling to appear in the franchise for years.
• Stunt Casting: Jason Alexander, of course, playing Kurros.
• You Look Familiar: More a case of "You Sound Familiar". It's impossible to tell through the full-face prosthetics, but this was the second appearance in a Trek series for Christopher Shea (the alien being threatened by the Think Tank in the cold open) and Christopher Darga (the Hizari leader), with each having appeared on DS9: Darga played Klingon commander Kaybok in season 4's "The Way of the Warrior", while Shea played Keevan (a.k.a. the smarmiest Vorta) in the season 6 episodes "Rocks and Shoals" and "The Magnificent Ferengi".
